A discussion on *The Will to Power*
On 3 September, the Wertevolle Zukunft Foundation invites you to discuss the extent to which state, business and civil society actors are able and willing to exercise power responsibly.
Together with the Hamburg-based RespectResearchGroup, the foundation poses the question: “Who has the will to exercise power? – The state, business and civil society and their responsibilities”. Do political parties still offer opportunities for political participation that are in keeping with the times? Should transnational corporations take on more political responsibility? What contribution can non-governmental organisations make to the common good? On the panel, our guests will discuss issues of participation, responsibility and accountability, and outline their vision for the exercise of power:
- Frank Düchting, Director of Studies at the Protestant Academy of the North Elbe Church
- Prof. Dr Günther Ortmann, Helmut Schmidt University
- Aydan Özoguz, Member of the Bundestag (SPD, Hamburg)
- Andreas Streubig, Head of Environmental and Social Policy at the Otto Group
The event will be moderated by Dorothee Vogt, RespectResearchGroup.
The event begins on 3 September 2010 at 6.00 pm and will take place this time at the Business Club Hamburg in the Plangesche Villa in Heine-Park, Elbchaussee 42, 22765 Hamburg. Following the discussion, you will have the opportunity to chat with the speakers and other guests over a glass of wine.
Please register for the event in good time at sekretariat@wertevolle-zukunft.de. Places for this event are limited.
