Civilising the economy
We ask: How far does responsibility extend? For individuals, organisations and institutions – in the past, present and future.
The Hamburger Stiftung für Wirtschaftsethik investigates what corporate responsibility can achieve and where its limits lie. In doing so, it operates at the interface between business and ethics: from the protection of human rights in global supply chains to the teaching of business ethics skills in economic and social science education.
For us, business ethics is not a moral appeal, but the development of scientifically grounded standards: for businesses, policymakers, civil society and the decision-makers of tomorrow.
Our work is independent, interdisciplinary and impact-oriented.
