REWE Group’s dialogue forum on sustainability
This year’s REWE Group Dialogue Forum was held under the motto ‘Out of the niche’. In early October in Berlin, stakeholders from politics, the private sector and civil society discussed the topic of sustainability with employees of the Group.
A key focus of the event was a series of expert forums on balancing work and family life, educational initiatives in Haiti and sustainability in livestock farming. Participants also discussed the topics of green products, energy, climate and the environment, staff, and social engagement across four discussion areas. Practical implementation was the focus of guided tours of various branches. Christopher van Dillen attended the event on behalf of the Hamburger Stiftung für Wirtschaftsethik and took the opportunity to put some critical questions to the group’s experts. From the Foundation’s perspective, dialogue forums on sustainability are a good way to initiate a subsequent in-depth examination of corporate responsibility issues.
