Emissions, effluent and waste in the toy industry
As in all manufacturing sectors, toy production also poses risks to the environment.
The situation is particularly critical in the Pearl River Delta, where most toy factories are located. Waste and effluent often flow into the rivers unfiltered. Paints, plastics, adhesives and solvents pollute the water and air because they are used improperly. Nevertheless, the toy industry as a whole accounts for only a small proportion of this environmental impact.
