Schools sought for ‘Discourse Learning’ project week
In Web 2.0, the boundaries between cultural creators and cultural consumers are blurring. Downloading music, for example, has not become legal, but it has become easier. Experts say that the legal framework no longer adequately reflects reality. ‘diskurslernen’ aims to give its project participants the opportunity to develop their own viewpoint on this controversy. The pupils will explore the question of whether artistic works such as pieces of music, films and images – as cultural assets – require special protection, and what regulatory measures might be appropriate. Alongside a historical and conceptual analysis of the fundamental issues, the week will focus on debates surrounding subsidies in the cultural sector, copyright, piracy and Creative Commons licences.
