The strategic challenges posed by social change for small and medium-sized enterprises

Over recent years, demographic change – with its clearly emerging social consequences – has become a much-discussed topic that neither academic researchers nor representatives from the worlds of business and politics can afford to ignore.

The collaborative project with the Institute for Value-Oriented Corporate Management (IWU) examines the implications of the ongoing ageing of society, migration and gender mainstreaming for the future of corporate human resources policy, with a particular focus on small and medium-sized enterprises.

Building on an assessment of the consequences of demographic and social change for small and medium-sized enterprises, this project developed strategies and practical guidelines for tackling the challenges ahead and introduced these into academic and practical discourse through workshops, conferences and publications.
